Wellbeing Skills to Unwind After a Hectic School Year 2020-21 Meeting
27th May 2021 7pm-8.30pm
This wellbeing and happiness skills meeting will give participants a chance to wind down and connect with the best of themselves, through gratitude and self-compassion skills, which also can be used in the classroom. On plane journeys, we're asked to put on our own mask first before helping others, so it is the same with our wellbeing; we need to mind ourselves before we can mind others. As we know, we all focus and work better when we experience a caring connection with those around us. But that caring connection starts with a caring connection to ourselves, so why not develop this more over the Summer?
This meeting will give participants a chance to use some wellbeing 'tools' to unwind, and an opportunity to share their experience with their peers of what works for them. The meeting is based on the discoveries within Positive Psychology, how we human beings function at our best. We are not ignoring all the painful and sad experiences but we are ensuring that we stimulate the necessary positive brain activity needed to relax, overcome negative stress and heal the bruises accumulated over the year. The meeting is based on a newly released online wellbeing skills course for teachers and Post Primary schools that has a number of freely available resources for personal use and use in the classroom. You can find out more about this course here.
